Flag American Academy of Underwater Sciences is a non-profit, self-regulating corporation, based in Nahant, Massachusetts, and composed of active diving scientists dedicated to the establishment and maintenance of standards of practice for scientific diving. The "AAUS Standards for Scientific Diving Certification and Operation of Scientific Diving Programs" are followed by most major universities and scientific organizations involved in underwater research.

Flag Broadreach Summer Adventures for Teenagers : As an alternative to the traditional summer camp, Broadreach offers summer dive adventures for teenagers with scuba, sailing and marine biology programs in the Caribbean, Red Sea, Australia, Fiji, the Solomon Islands, Costa Rica, the Bay Islands and the Galapagos Islands. Functioning as a part of Florida State's Marine Laboratory, they are one of the largest and most active diving research, support, and training programs in the United States.

FlagThe mission of the IUCRR - International Underwater Cave Rescue and Recovery is to support all Public Safety Agencies in the rescue and/or recovery of victims in an underwater environment (with an overhead obstruction such as caves, caverns, mine shafts, etc. or those beyond standard recreational no-deco limits). Membership is totally voluntary and primarily consists of trained, experienced cave, wreck, trimix and other specialty divers. Supporting agencies include the NSS-CDS, NACD, IANTD, GUE and local law enforcement through each regional coordinator.


Flag NAPD -- National Academy Of Police Diving , a not for profit corporation based in Coral Gables, Florida, was founded in 1988 by a group of full time Police Divers who observed the need for the standardization of Public Safety Diver Training. Staff members are current certified and insured Police Diver and Special Response Diver Instructors as well as recreational SCUBA Diving Instructors from nationally recognized certifying organizations. All Police Diver Instructors are certified by the Criminal Justice Standard s and Training Commission from the state they represent. The NAPD has provided training to Police Divers and Special Response Divers from throughout the continental United States, Caribbean and Central America. The NAPD is concerned with Police and Public Safety Diver training, state of the art diving techniques, training methodologies and underwater investigations.


Flag NARD -- National Association Of Resuce Divers , based in Houston, Texas, was founded in 1985 for the purpose of compiling information on prehospital care of water related accidents, and getting that information to the people who need it. Their goal is to help organize highly trained water rescue provider services for communities that need them.


FlagThe River City Underwater Rescue Team of Demopolis, Alabama, is a volunteer organization, made up of local firefighters and civilians. For many years, drowned victims were recovered by dragging with heavy metal drags and long ropes. It sometimes took days to recover a drowned victim. By diving with scuba gear, the team can now accomplish this task in minutes. Team membership consists of certified divers as well as non-divers. The non-divers on their team play a vital role in such areas as boat handling, rope tending, time keeping, and other jobs in the rescue operation.


FlagThe Salem Police Department Dive Team 's 13 member rescue and recovery dive team has been in operation since 1983 and is the only organized police dive team north of Boston, Massachusetts. The team has had specialized training that includes underwater evidence gathering, search and recovery, rescue, and underwater photography. The dive team is trained and equipped with underwater communications as well as both wet and dry suits. All members are issued beepers and are on twenty four hour call. All divers are full time police officers and must pass military physical fitness and swim standards. Mandatory training is monthly and year-round.


FlagThe San Luis Obispo Sherrif's Department Underwater Search & Recover Dive Team conducts underwater searches for missing person(s) and physical evidence in all bodies of water within or adjacent to San Luis Obispo County in California. The team also promotes water and boating safety practices to the public. The team is presently composed of 18 team members, 10 of which are citizen volunteer divers and 8 department members. It is managed by a Sheriff's lieutenant and supervised by a Sheriff's sergeant. All team members are qualified scuba divers who attend regular training sessions and are subject to call out to search missions as needed.


Flag Vermillion County Search & Recovery Team provides underwater rescues and recovery operations for Police agencies and individuals in West-Central Indiana.


Flag Whatcom County Dive Rescue is an all volunteer organization formed to assist the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office with water related emergencies and investigations. Some of these duties include water rescue, evidence/body recovery, education/training of rescue procedures and flood/swift water disasters.
