Kona Underwater Photographic Society was founded in 1996 by Bob & Tina Owens and Dave Kearnes. The club is a closely-knit group dedicated to diving, photographing and protecting the marine life of the Kona Coast and the Big Island Of Hawaii. The club actively supports the "Save The Reef" (Lost Fish Coalition) program and is striving to bring increased protection to the marine life of Hawaii. Members generally dive together either from the shore or from member dive boats. Visitors are encouraged to attend meetings and to bring samples of their work.
