Now that you have arranged your trip, it begs the question, What do I bring? That's easy to answer if you don't have anything. However, when you don't bring your own gear, you run the risk of using equipment the condition of which is uncertain. Most dive operators understand the need for safe and reliable equipment. They want you to have a good experience and come back. It's balancing that understanding with overhead costs that can get in the way. Expect to rent well used gear. The question still remains, what to bring? As a basic rule, the mask snorkel and fins are items that one should own and bring when traveling with diving in mind. When the diving is done, you can still snorkel. Next for consideration, if you have them, are the regulator and gauges. It is your lifeline if you will, and you will know the condition and reliability of the equipment. The rest of the gear is no less important but becomes less and less critical. For instance, if you are comfortable with only one type of BDC, bring it. Don't expect to find something that you will like as well. No matter what the item, if you feel more comfortable with it, don't leave it behind. It will be worth it in the end.
